The Akron Urban Gardens held their ground breaking ceremony, a tree planting day, commemorating those who lost their lives from the All-America Bridge also known as the Y-bridge. Over 40 people have taken their lives since 1997.
Volunteers planted over 50 trees at Elizabeth Park on East Lods Street near Cascade Village.
Akron Urban Gardens received a $6,000 grant from the Neighborhood Partnership Program through Akron Community Foundation
Dana Starvaggi and Alex Miller, Akron Urban Gardens co-founders, planned this event over two years ago.
